This is 40

I am officially 40 years old.

I must admit that celebrating what is somewhat of a milestone birthday at home amidst a worldwide pandemic wasn’t what I originally envisioned, but I am so lucky to have friends, family, and loved ones who took time out of their day and went out of their way to make my day special despite the bizarre circumstances.

I had a delicious crab boil dinner, courtesy of the awesome Pacific Northwest Best Fish market in Ridgefield. I had an awesome virtual birthday party, complete with surprise guests, arranged by my dear friend Sarah. I spent quality time with my family amidst the sunshine. A local friend surprised me and dropped off a gift card. And I received lots of greetings throughout the day from loved ones all over the country.

I may not be able to tune pianos, see clients, or go out for yummy dinners with my favorite people right now. But I’m still grateful for all the good things that I still have as well as the fun, creative ways I was able to celebrate, all while staying home and staying safe.
